Al Kite's murder is one of the most chilling and perplexing unsolved cases in Colorado. In 2004, the 53-year-old Aurora man rented out his basement to a tenant who turned out to be a sadistic killer operating under a fake identity. The tenant brutally tortured Kite over several hours before murdering him, then vanished without a trace, leaving behind no forensic evidence and using multiple false identities. Despite a composite sketch and nationwide investigation, the killer, described as having an Eastern European accent, remains unidentified.
