#13 - Embrace Being a Work In Progress & Intuitive Fitness with Tasha Franken

In this guest episode, I sit down with my good friend Tasha Franken for an in-depth chat about food, fitness, finding balance and finding a healthy relationship with "wellness". We hear a lot about the importance of developing a healthy relationship with food, but we discuss the importance of finding balance with fitness, too, as well as all other areas of your life, and how imbalances indicate unrest deep within; not just physically but hormonally, emotionally and energetically, too. We talk a lot about the beauty of being a constant work in progress, as unsettling or tiring as that may sound, as well as how to find rituals and routines that work for you. We discuss why you should take everyone else's tips with a pinch of salt, and instead of copy and pasting them to your life, commit to trying different things and cherry picking the bits you like most and that seem realistic to you. We talk about how we both did a 360 in terms of our fitness journeys, coming back to gentleness and simplicity after desperately seeking out diets and workouts that we thought would completely change our lives. We talk about turning inward, and leading with empowered intuition. And we talk about dropping rules and restrictions, and prioritising joy in all areas of your life; even fitness and nutrition. Beyond food and fitness, we also talk about trusting the timing of your life, and leading with what feels good; without urgency or comparison to others. We talk about the importance of having empathy and compassion towards yourself, emotionally and physically, and embracing a long-term journey with commitment, responsibility and relevant work in order to look, feel and show up exactly how you want to in life.
