On today’s episode, we talk with Kara Beckmann, real estate investor and designer on how she grew both her investing and design business from nothing. We discuss with Kara how she went from being a pastry chef to a full-time investor and designer, how those with no design experience can create beautiful spaces, her biggest lessons learned from doing flips, and how crucial a business mindset is when scaling. Kara also shares with us the fine line between a frugal mentality and having an abundant mindset. Kara is a fully self-taught real estate investor who started investing in real estate while working her full-time job. After 3 flips and a rental property, Kara left her W2 job and started Beckmann House full time. She focused mainly on fix & flips and purchasing rentals with the profits she was making from her flips. Through Instagram, she organically started to get more requests from potential clients to renovate their homes, and client projects have become a very large part of her business. Fun Facts: 1. Kara is a formally trained pastry chef and worked as a personal pastry chef for Pro-athletes 2. Kara loves being active - weight training work outs, hiking, boxing, HIIT, yoga. You name it! 3. Kara is a huge saver, which was a large contributor to her being able to start her real estate investing career. (She still is driving the same car she purchased 12 years ago!)
