#089 - I was 18 years old. Just got my driver’s license. Got my first car – a used Gremlin. I was excited. Freedom!I went out for a drive down a two lane road. Put on my turn signal for a left turn and started turning – then CRASH!Another car was trying to pass me in the lane on the left that was for traffic going in the other direction. It smashed into me and my car skidded across the front yard of the house on the corner, coming to a stop right next to the front door. Good thing this house had a big front yard – or I would have been inside!How Could This Have Happened?How could this have happened? I took driver’s education in high school and got an “A” and passed my test. I was ready to be a great driver, right?
