The Secret Teachings 11/16/20 - Mock Meats: Where's the Leaf? w. Hope

Mock meats are flooding the market with promises of a cleaner planet and an alternative to animal agriculture. However, these alternatives often play similar environmentally destructive roles that are overlooked by their champion zealots in the same way zealous meat eaters often ignore their contribution to environmental destruction. The problem is not necessarily the cow on the farm being raised by mom and dad, who have raised animals over generations, nor is the problem a result of plants growing out of the ground. The problem is widespread usage of chemicals, drugs, the lack of concern for life or health, in growing plants or eating animals, and a mountain of minutia that must be sifted through. At the end of the day there is always the black bean or similar veggie burger and a nice glass of coconut or oat milk. We will examine the nutrition and ingredients of mock meats along with different milks, while focusing on the marketing scams run by their companies, and sharing some humorous personal stories.
