In 1775 (April 18) the British left Boston for Concord, Massachusetts, to seize weapons and ammunition from American colonists. Gunfire was exchanged that lead to five dead, two colonists and three redcoats. This is considered the trigger for the American Revolution and known as the 'shot heard around the world'.
