Arizona is ranked in the top 10 for UFO sighting in the United States. Recently our home city of Tucson was witness to an early morning display of several types of unidentified flying objects. While some may have been satellites others looked similar to a series of UFOs in China from 2010. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, the Internet is awash in reports of UFOs over Ukraine. But even when you subtract the uncommon elements of warfare, objects that are being called ‘cosmics’ or ‘phantoms’ are still being reported; some moving as fast as 33,000 miles an hour, more than twice the speed of an ICBM. When typical and fringe theories do not suffice in explanation, a different approach is necessary. While more fringe explanations might focus on beings from another world, typical explanations often leave out the possibility that countless UFO sightings, and subsequent associated phenomena, could actually be swarms of insects rather than alien spaceships.
