I've been increasingly concerned about the mental health of differently wired kids over the past few years. And after reading yet another report about how dire the situation is for today's children and adolescents, I realized this community — you, me, everyone out there supporting neurodivergent kids — needs more support.I reached out to my friend Dr. Matt Zakreski, a clinical psychologist and expert in the intersection of children, neurodiversity, and mental health, and he agreed to join me for an honest conversation about the things we're most worried about, as well as how we can support our kids (and ourselves) during these challenging times. In this Mental Health Check-In — scheduled or January 24th from 8pm - 9:30pm ET, we'll be talking about things like:When our kids' anxiety and depression impacts the whole familyConcerns about kids' negative coping strategiesStruggles with school, social relationships, and motivationStrategies to support our kids engaged in self-harm and moreResources and ideas for getting kids the help they needSupporting our own mental health and well-being while parenting We're scheduling this as a 90-minute live event so there will be plenty of time to address questions and concerns.
