If I could tally up all of the complaints I hear from small business owners, I’d say having to convince people to work with them is number one. And on the one hand - yes, that is what you are trying to do in your marketing. But what I find so ironic about effective marketing is that usually the most effective method of persuasion is to simply be real, be honest, and let people make their own decisions. Because people can tell when you’re being honest. In other words - can you get people to work with you by being really really convincing? Sure! But I actually think there is a much more sustainable, often more ethical, and for most people who are not digital marketing gurus, more effective approach. And I think a lot of it rests on your willingness to lean into your perspective and power. If you missed my episode last week, I would highly recommend you go back to that episode first because this episode will build on some of the basics that I covered there. **To register for the free live training on March 11, Competitive disadvantage: how to embrace your unique genius by harnessing the power of what you thought was a liability, head to bit.ly/tydlive **
