He holds a Doctor of Music from Florida State University in Trumpet Performance, with a certification in college teaching. He completed a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Music Education from Florida State University. He has taught on the faculty at Young Harris College as the Assistant Director of Bands, the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Summer Music Academy.
