Krishnamurti on Work

‘Shall I seek a job according to my idiosyncrasies, which means, according to my conditioning? My conditioning is the result of society which says prestige and status are most important, not function.’ This week’s episode on Work has five sections. The first extract (2:48) is from the second question and answer meeting in Saanen 1980, titled: Right Living, Right Livelihood. The second extract (14:34) is from Krishnamurti’s seventh talk in Saanen 1972, titled: A Job You Love. The third extract (28:01) is from the second talk in Saanen 1973, titled: Deny the Culture, Yet Live in the World. The fourth extract (52:08) is from Krishnamurti’s fifth talk in Saanen 1973, titled: Work as Part of a Harmonious Life. The final extract in this episode (1:04:55) is from the second talk in Ojai 1977, titled: I Have No Problem With Livelihood. Each episode of the Krishnamurti podcast features carefully selected extracts from the archives. The aim is to represent different aspects of Krishnamurti’s radical approach to many of the issues and questions we all face in our lives. This week’s theme is Work. Upcoming themes are Joy, Illusion and Virtue. This is a podcast from Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, based at Brockwood Park in the UK, which is also home to The Krishnamurti Centre.
