Welcome back to the VOCAL GIRLS PODCAST! This week I’m speaking to Lia Metcalfe, the lead singer of the incredible rock band, The Mysterines. The Liverpool group have not only supported bands like Royal Blood and the Amazons, but also completely sold out their own headline tour which they rounded up just before the pandemic started in the UK. Lia’s fierce vocals combined with the bands energetic and heavy sound is getting them some serious credit and quickly aligning them as one of the bands to watch of this year. Their single ‘Love’s Not Enough’ released a few months back is one of my personal favourite songs of 2020 so far - and latest release ‘I Win Everytime’ is a confident and arresting showcase of who they are and what they want. In this episode I talk to Lia about how the band have been getting on in lockdown, her musical journey so far and her playlist choices.
