Content warning: drug-facilitated sexual assault, human trafficking, and vehicular manslaughter. Shawnee Baker is a co-victim, mother of five, an author, non-profit organization founder, and nurse from Ontario, Canada. In this episode, Shawnee shares about her daughter Baylie, a bright, motivated college sophomore with hopes of becoming a neurologist. However, as Baylie’s second year of college began her life would be tragically cut short under suspicious, allegedly criminal circumstances. Now, Shawnee is working to bring awareness, education, and safety resources to young adults all over the country in honor of Baylie’s legacy. The Broken Cycle Media team is incredibly grateful for Shawnee’s willingness to share Baylie, as well as her grace, wisdom, and advocacy, with our audience.
