Our culture is so singularly focused on the romantic love narrative that I think it really misses out on the love story that’s also wrapped into the wedding day- specifically with our parents. Parents think about the day- who they will be on that day, how they will feel, it’s a completion of their job in many ways. They think about how they pay for it. The bottom line is your parents are going through a major change and all of the emotion that comes with it. They are dealing with the relationship reshuffle, the new family dynamic, and the new life phase.
