Dogsbody

Dogsbody is a noun that refers to a person tasked with menial work. Our word of the day began as a term used in the British navy for pudding. It has come to refer to a person who has a tedious, unpleasant job. I was a dogsbody for my first year at the television station. I got people’s coffee, answered phones and did other tasks nobody else wanted to do.
