They talk about the kind of actions that trigger people, some deliberate and some completely innocuous, which in turn cause them to overreact and become engaged in behaviours that they are not proud of.
As the guys explain, the thing is that the triggers are not the problem. The problem is ourselves, our own programming which is subconsciously dictating our reactions to whatever is doing the triggering.
I’m sure you have experienced circumstances when you were triggered by something you heard on the news or that a politician said and you became angry. it doesn’t make sense but it illustrates the point that it is all about us and not the person saying or doing the thing.
Then there are those in the media, politics and advertising who know exactly what to do to trigger us and use it to their advantage.
