It is what gives peppers that makes them taste spicy. 🌶 capsaicin communicates and binds with cellular receptors in the body,  one of them is known as TRPV1, also called the vanilloid receptor. 🌶Once  bound to the TRPV1 receptor, capsaicin can perform a variety of  anti-inflammatory functions by switching the receptor signal on. 🌶Once the signal is turned on, capsaicin acts as a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, mood enhancer and antiviral. 🌶 Capsaicin after binding to TRPV1 can affect the circulatory system,  pump up endorphins and anandamide levels (which can help with mood) and  lower inflammation within the body. 🌶 Apoptosis is the mechanism the body uses to turnover cells, which is,  cause cell death. This is the mechanism used to "kill" cancer cells. 🌶 Capsaicin is very effective at causing apoptosis in the body and this has been proven in large and long-term clinical studies. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/drsamndllc/support
