Fact vs. Fiction- Common Health & Wellness Misconceptions found on Social Media (part 1)

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for coming back to this channel. My name is Dr. Simone and I love create health and wellness related content. You know the good thing about social media is that you have a ton of information at your disposal any time of the day or night you may desire, the bad thing about social media is that you have a ton of information anytime you may desire- which means, that not all of the information, especially within the umbrella of health and wellness are facts or clinically sound in nature. As a health practitioner, I am always amazed and baffled at the stuff that I read online and I urge every patient or every friend and family member that I work with to please refrain from seeking health advice on social media groups. What may be right for one person may not necessarily be good for you. Foods and supplements are no different than medications, meaning, they can give rise to side effects and cause some very detrimental side effects when consumed without understanding the ramifications. Therefore, I decided to create a series of small podcasts going over some common fact vs. fiction topics that I often encounter with my own patients. I will try and address 5-6 topics in each podcast and hopefully make this an ongoing series. If you have any social media driven fads you want me to address, please send them my way. As always, before we begin, please keep in mind, these sessions are for educational purposes only and should you choose to adopt any of the suggestions I share, feel free to do so at your own discretion. Please be mindful, any changes made to your diet, medications, lifestyle, and overall health and fitness must be discussed with your personal health professional team. If you have    any serious   acute or chronic health concern, please consult your    personal health   professional who can fully assess your needs and    address them   effectively within a medical/clinical setting. Check   with  your doctor   before practicing any nutritional/fitness   strategies,  especially,  before  taking any supplements, herbs or  using  essential  oils,  especially, when  pregnant or nursing.
