Fr John Bethencourt is former pastor of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Santa Fe. He and his wife, Khouria Photina, led a small group of 25 believers into the Orthodox Church at the end of 1995. He was first introduced to the Orthodox faith in his early twenties. After teaching school for three years and then working for four years as a chaplain at ASU, he became an Episcopal priest. During all that time his heart could never escape the theology and worship of the Orthodox Church. In due season, he knew that the only way to satisfy his seeking was to come into the full communion of the Church.
